On Tuesday, May 2nd, family members of Joseph Newton Bennison paid a visit to his grave in Nederweert. Accompanied by the grave's adopter, Eveline Korsten, the group was welcomed at the British cemetery by the Nederweert Adoption Graves Foundation.
During the ceremony, which also featured bagpiper Cor van Loon, Sally Fall and her husband David placed flowers at Joseph's grave.
Joseph Newton Bennison, known as Joe, passed away at the age of 18. He fell in Blerick while serving in The Hallamshire Battalion York and Lancashire Regiment and hailed from Runswick Yorkshire. Sally Fall is the daughter of one of Joe's brothers.
The family members are extremely grateful to everyone who contributed to their visit. They found it to be a very beautiful, special, and memorable day.
